Hi Orbi comminuty,
I have 1 RBR 750 and 2 RBS750 setup in my home, the RBR was put upstairs and 2 RBS downstairs. All have been upgraded to the most recent firmware v4.6.9.11.
All of a sudden, my mobile phone (Huawei Mate 20 pro) can only get internet access when its connected to the RBR upstairs. Whenever my mobile phone connected to the RBS downstairs, it immediately loses internet connection and shows "no internet connection" on my phone. However all my other devices are working perfectly fine. My phone has no issue of connecting with other WIFI network and it used to work really well with my Orbi.
I tried to reboot, repair the RBR and RBS, turned off access control on the router, reset my phone's network connections, tested my phone in a Android safe mode, all failed. On the router I can see my phone has no issue of getting its IP address. I tried to assign a static IP address to the phone but still getting no luck.
Does anyone experience this issue before. Really appreciate if you can share some suggesstions.
Thank you.

Re: One device connected to RBS750 getting no internet access, all other devices are fine
What is the size of your home? Sq Ft?
What is the distance between the router and 📡 satellite(s)? 30 feet or more is recommended in between RBR and RBS📡 to begin with depending upon building materials when wirelessly connected.
https://kb.netgear.com/31029/Where-should-I-place-my-Orbi-satellite 📡
Has a power off for 1 minute then back ON with the ISP modem and router been performed since last update?
Be sure to restart your network in this sequence:
Turn off and unplug modem.
Turn off router and computers.
Plug in and turn on modem. Wait 2 minutes for it to connect.
Turn on the router and wait 2 minutes for it to connect.
Turn on computers and rest of network.

Re: One device connected to RBS750 getting no internet access, all other devices are fine
Hi Ekhalil, the modem is ARRIS CM8200B P2, directly connected to the RBR750 router.

Re: One device connected to RBS750 getting no internet access, all other devices are fine
Which router do you mean? Orbi RBR?
How did you assign static IP address, from the phone or using address reservation in Orbi?

Re: One device connected to RBS750 getting no internet access, all other devices are fine
Hi @FURRYe38 , it is a double storey house, approx. 25SQ in total. I put one RBR upstairs next to the Modem, and two RBS downstairs. One RBS is in the study room and another on is in the living room on the other side of the house. I would say they all have more than 30 feet in distance. The RBS has no connection issues with the RBR as all my other devices (include mobile phone, laptop, iPad, camera, TV etc.) can access internet.
My phone (Huawei Mate 20 pro) has good internet connection when it's connected to the RBR upstairs. However when I moved downstairs, the phone switches its WIFI to the RBS and immediately it shows no internet connection. The Orbi app shows my two RBS loses connection with the RBR which I believe it's untrue as all my other devices have internet connection.
I will follow up your procedure to test it again. I will post the result here. Thanks.

Re: One device connected to RBS750 getting no internet access, all other devices are fine
@ekhalil Yes, I mean Orbi RBR.
I tried to set the IP to static on my phone for this WIFI connection. I can see from the Orbi RBR's router management page that there is no IP conflicts between devices.

Re: One device connected to RBS750 getting no internet access, all other devices are fine
When you check in the web GUI (orbilogin.com from any browser) under “Attached Devices” for your 2 satellites, do you see them connected on 2.4 or 5 GHz? Is the connection “Good”, “Weak”,….?
Do you have the possibility to get the satellites closer to the router?

Re: One device connected to RBS750 getting no internet access, all other devices are fine
Sorry for the confusion @FURRYe38 Here we use "SQ" to measure house size. I used the online conversion tools to find out that 25 SQ = 2500 sq ft = 232.2576 m2
Also I tried to follow exactly your procedure but it does not work.

Re: One device connected to RBS750 getting no internet access, all other devices are fine
@ekhalil In the web GUI, the two satellites are connected on 5GHz, and the connections are "Good".
I do not think its the connectivity issue, as the other devices in the same/near room connected to the same satellite all have good connection. That's why I think it is so weird and trying to find out if anyone else experienced the similar problem.

Re: One device connected to RBS750 getting no internet access, all other devices are fine
Ok. Thanks for the confirmation.
For that size of home, the RBR and just one RBS would be needed. I would turn OFF one RBS and set the RBRs transmit power to 50%.

Re: One device connected to RBS750 getting no internet access, all other devices are fine
Please check in the app or in the web GUI the access control for this device. It can be that you changed it and then the setting was not propagated to the satellites.
Please activate and deactivate access control for this device and chaeck if this will change anything.

Re: One device connected to RBS750 getting no internet access, all other devices are fine
Hi again,
It can be that -for some reason- the Access Control settings were changed and never propagated correctly to the satellites (or some satellites).
- Please make sure all satellites are connected and the connectivity is stable (green/good in the app and web GUI attached devices).
- On the web GUI (orbilogin.com), go to >> ADVANCED >> Security >> Access Control, and check all devices and click on Allow, also uncheck "Turn On Access Control". Then click on Apply.
- Now, if you want Access Control to be on again, go back and check "Turn On Access Control" and click on Aplly again.

Re: One device connected to RBS750 getting no internet access, all other devices are fine
Hi @ekhalil @FURRYe38 To provide some updates. I have tried both of your suggestions and I also did some research online, it seems like none of them can solve my issue.
I guess I have to accept this situation and use 4G on this mobile phone as all the other devices in the household are working perfectly fine. Again thanks a lot for your suggestions.

Re: One device connected to RBS750 getting no internet access, all other devices are fine
Has the phone ever worked when connected to the RBS at all? If not I would presume there maybe some odd problem between it and the RBS system.
Did you reduce the RBS count by one as well?
Would be curious if you set the WPA on the system to NONE, does the phone connect to the RBS then and get internet. Re-enable WPA2 after checking.

Re: One device connected to RBS750 getting no internet access, all other devices are fine
@FURRYe38 The phone used to work ok with the RBS. The issue only starts after I updated to the newest firmware. However as all the other devices and my friend's new device can joined the network, I would not say the new firmware causes the issue and I believe there might be some odd problems with the phone/router.
I tried to disconnect one RBS and reduce the signal power to 50% but it still does not work.
I tried to disable the WPA, still the same issue.
The phone can connect to the
I also realised that the phone does not always getting internet from the RBR upstairs. Sometimes it can, but sometimes it cannot even it just next to it.
I have attached some screenshot here. The phone can connect to both the RBR and RBS, but it shows "no internet access" while other devices are all working ok.

Re: One device connected to RBS750 getting no internet access, all other devices are fine
Have you told the phone to forget the SSID network then reconnect?
Doe the phone have any MAC Address randomizer or privacy features that could be disabled?
I guess downgrade the orbi system to last working FW version and see if this resolves this...

Re: One device connected to RBS750 getting no internet access, all other devices are fine
Glad you got it working. Please mark your thread as solved so others will know. Be sure to save off a back up configuration to file for safe keeping. Saves time if a reset is needed.
