I am stumped how to connect my MOCA network for my TV signals now that I have lost the MOCA onboard adapter on the Xfinity XB6-T Gateway when I changed it to bridge mode. Bridge mode automatically disables MOCA. I have an Ethernet connection from the XB6 to the Orbi Router which is next to my whole house dmark. At that location the coax feed comes in from the network interface outside the house and goes into the Input port on an Amphenol IPGH3M4-VF MOCA Splitter. The H1 port on the splitter connects into the IN port on the XB6 Gateway. There are 4 coaxial connections to the 4 MOCA ports on the splitter that run throughout the house.

My dilemna is how to feed the signal into the modem and replace the MOCA functionality so the MOCA connected TV's can get a signal.

1) Can I use an ActionTec ECB6250 MOCA 2.5 Adapter between the splitter and the modem by connecting the splitter to the adapter using coax and then connect the adapter to the modem via Ethernet?

or

2) Do I feed the Coax from the splitter into the modem and then connect the adapter to the Orbi router by Ethernet and back to the splitter via coax?

I'm not sure if the raw coax from the street into the modem will "pass through" those signals through to the Orbi router without an adapter. This is all crazy confusing.

I would rather NOT use the Orbi in AP mode and lose the network management features of the Orbi app.

I solved it.....by adding a ScreenBeam ECB6250 MOCA adapter from my router (ethernet) to the MOCA smart splitter (Amphenol IPGH3M4-VF via coax) I was able to replace the MOCA function that the Xfinity XB6-T gateway did and "re-inject" that signal back into the MOCA network in my house.

I'd contact the ISP to ask them how thats connected when there modem is in bridge mode.

Are you using your coax wire for ethernet anymore or do you only get internet from the Orbi wireless/wired? My limited understanding is that MOCA overlays ethernet connectivity over your Xfinity coax but doesn't affect the TV signal. I use Xfinity's modem for internet and it is bridged to my Orbi. My TVs still get cable signal by connecting to each room's coax line fed by an ordinary coax splitter that receives input from the Xfinity feed, like you described. My TVs rely on the Orbi wireless for internet so they don't need MOCA.

Is it correct to assume that the TV's have only a single coax connector that is used for both cable television and as a data connection? i.e. the tv's acces the internet through the coax connector?

My TV's are connected to the Xi-DP adapters...essentially MOCA adapters that connect to the coax in each room and then HDMI cable from the adapter to the TV. The problem is that since the XB6-T is now in bridge mode and only serving as a modem, it disables MOCA support automatically. I am wondering if I can't just "inject" a MOCA signal back into that coax network by running a MOCA adapter out of the Orbi router and back into one of the unused hybrid ports on the splitter that talks to all the other MOCA ports.

Correct....Coax in each room to Xi-DP connector, out the connector through HDMI to the TV

Thanks for explaining. I believe I also have one of these Xfinity XiD boxes in one of my rooms, connected via coax and feeds HDMI to my TV for cable signals. It still works without MOCA and my Xfinity modem is in bridge mode to my Orbi, though I don't rely upon it for internet service for my TV. How is your setup different?

Sounds the same...how it your coax connected to Xfinity? Through a regular coax splitter straight to the room or through a smart low loss of signal splitter?

Glad you fixed it. To answer your question, my coax connects to a regular splitter out of the room's wall jack, one split goes to the TV box and the other goes to the Xfinity XB7 gateway.
