RBK853 seems to have no internet for a sec after opening connection
I have an RBK853, the connectionrange is great. Speed is very good. But I have the thing when I open a website on my phone or laptop for a sec there is an an error DNS_PROBE_FINISHED_NXDOMAIN. When I open that tab it opens the website direct.
Next to that I have a Harmony Hub. Also the app can't find the HUB sometimes, when I reopen the app it's fine again. So it also seems the same problem?
I tried setting the DNS server in the RBK853 to 8.8.8.8. but it didn't help. When I set this DNS on my laptop it seems fine, but this is not the solution I want. Because this leaves me with my Harmony problem and also phones.
I do have a not ideal situation with an Fritzbox 7590 from my provider witch can't be set in bridge mode according to them...
I set him to fixed IP but I can imagen that this isn't perfect. But that shouldn't be the problem with my Harmony because this is working only in my wifi network (It keeps working when my internet is down...)
Is there anyone who can help me with this problem?

Re: RBK853 seems to have no internet for a sec after opening connection
If your ISP modem has a built in router, This would be a double NAT (two router) condition which isn't recommended. https://kb.netgear.com/30186/What-is-Double-NAT
https://kb.netgear.com/30187/How-to-fix-issues-with-Double-NAT
Couple of options,
1. Configure the modem for transparent bridge or modem only mode. Then use the Orbi router in router mode. You'll need to contact the ISP for help and information in regards to the modem being bridged correctly.
2. If you can't bridge the modem, disable ALL wifi radios on the modem, configure the modems DMZ/ExposedHost or IP Pass-Through for the IP address the Orbi router gets from the modem. Then you can use the Orbi router in Router mode.
3. Or disable all wifi radios on the modem and connect the Orbi router to the modem, configure AP mode on the Orbi router. https://kb.netgear.com/31218/How-do-I-configure-my-Orbi-router-to-act-as-an-access-point and https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=H7LOcJ8GdDo&app=desktop
I recommend trying option #2 first...

Let check the configuration of the modem first...they maybe in a double NAT condition.

Re: RBK853 seems to have no internet for a sec after opening connection
Thanks for your answer! The first option is sadly impossible. I called them a few times but the same answer everytime....
I think option 2 is allready the situation here. I attached a screenshot. But I had my Orbi already set as exposed host to be able to connect to my domotica.
Can you check if I'm right? Could it still be helpfull to test option 3? I'm not excited to test it since I set up multiple fixed IP adresses and hope other devices won't get problems.

Re: RBK853 seems to have no internet for a sec after opening connection
Thanks for your answer! I found multiple DNS problem threats but without a real solution. Did I miss the solution or does Neatgear sell €1200 products that can't even handle the most basic actions???

Re: RBK853 seems to have no internet for a sec after opening connection
I would ask the ISP about if your Exposed Host configuration is correct. It looks like it.
Been a known issue as well that some ISP modems DMZ or Exposed Hosts may not work well.
Yes, try AP mode with the RBR850. You'll need to remove the Exposed Host configuration from the modem though when you do this.

Re: RBK853 seems to have no internet for a sec after opening connection
Sorry for the delay. Thanks for your answers. I'm currently in discussion with Netgear from The Netherlands, they are giving support still. So I'll leave it to them for now. If I find the solution I'm coming back here!
