Advice wanted for patchy RBS50 performance
Hi folks. I’ve had the RBR50/RBS50 pair for a few years now with minimal problems. However lately, and annoyingly sporadically, devices in the range of the satellite have had poor up/down/ping measurements.
Just tonight I was in satellite range failing to sustain a Teams meeting and going down stairs it was fine (in router range). Speed test downstairs was 300mbs and upstairs was 30-70.
I’ve had this a few times now and I thought I had solved it with a factory reset of the satellite and a firmware upgrade to latest on both.
I know there’s a few things that could be going wrong, but I’m pleading for any experience that sounds similar to my situation.
The one thing tonight was my wife was watching Netflix on the PlayStation, but that is Ethernet connected directly on the router and not on the wifi. I also have about 20 IOT devices on the network with a mix of 2.4 and 5 ghz use.
Any advice please?
Thanks

Try powering off the satellite and seeing if there's issues at that distance with the device directly.
If thats fine, with the satellite powered on, hardwire a pc/device directly to the satellite and test it. That checks the backhaul.

Re: Advice wanted for patchy RBS50 performance
It sometimes is helpful to know things like:
- How far apart are the router and satellite?
(and how much building material lies between them - walls, floors, appliances) - How does the web interface describe the satellite on the Attached Devices page?
(5G WiFi 'Good'?) - Has anything changed? Something lies up against the satellite or router which was not there before?
