All it’s showing is network ip.
Anyway I can set it manually?
This is a massive pain in the arse as I can’t login to Netgear in the app.

Login to Netgear what?
Which app? Orbi?
As both @FURRYe38 and @dopey1620 explain, in AP mode there won't be an external IP address.
External IP Address for RBR50 in AP Mode - NETGEAR Communities
The way into an AP is usually through its local IP address, unless you are trying to use Remote Access.

Re: Can’t get External IP Address for RBR40 in AP Mode
I’m guessing Orbi is unable to talk to Netgear due to my proxy so I need to forward the port Netgear use but I haven’t found that information yet

With a directly connection, the Orbi app does work. If you have any proxy or different routing system inbetween this will cause problems.

Open a Command Prompt from a computer attached to Orbi and enter the following command to find the IP address of Orbi:
> arp -a
This will print all devices connected to your network, look for the MAC address of Orbi

Re: Can’t get External IP Address for RBR40 in AP Mode
If so, contact the Mfr or whom ever setup this proxy to help with it's configuration to help allow the Orbi traffic to pass thru it. There maybe a quick setting to add to just allow Orbi traffic using the Orbi device IPs. Something to ask about with the mfr of this proxy.

Yes I know with direct connection it works, and with a proxy I have problems.

Re: Can’t get External IP Address for RBR40 in AP Mode
I’m no beginner at this game.
I’m looking for the information on this forum due to the fact the knowledge should be on here being it’s Netgear that know the port numbers that would be needed for it to work as it should.

Re: Can’t get External IP Address for RBR40 in AP Mode
You might setup wireshark and see if you can pick out what ports the Orbi is using, then configure the proxy accordingly.

Re: Can’t get External IP Address for RBR40 in AP Mode
if you do a tcp packet capture, you'll note that the orbi intercepts dns requests and responds to www.orbilogin.com with the IP address of the router. Rather than dealing with a proxy server, have you considered trying to set www.orbilogin.com to resolve to your orbi hub IP address and see if that works?
I find it somewhat annoying that the orbi app doesn't let you specify the IP address of the device - what if you have multiple orbi devices on the network?
I'm not entirely sure I understand your configuration though. What's behind the proxy? The orbi? or the device you're trying to run the app on? Is the application connected to the orbi (or one of it's satellites)?
One thing I've noticed is, using the ethernet backhaul on one of the satellites, the satellite doesn't appear to be capable of intercepting the DNS lookup for www.orbilogin.com and with the wired backhaul - in AP mode, connections through the satellite go directly to your router (the satellite functions as a separate access point) so the app won't work in that scenario. If you're using a wireless backhaul your device has to pass through the orbi hub, which handles the DNS interception. The workaround I have is I have the ethernet backhaul satellite wired into one of the orbi's LAN ports which is then connected ot the switch for the rest of the network. So all traffic from devices connected to the orbi hub or it's satellite's pass through the hub.
