DM200 firmware update
I want to update the firmware in my DM200 modem, but it doesn't recognise the password or its serial number. My PC ethernet port is hardwired to my Orbi router (via a powerline adapter), not directly to the modem. Please advise.
Kind regards,
Peter Clark.

Is it correct to assume that your web browser is able to connect to the DM200 at http://192.168.5.1 ?
(It will not be able to connect to http://www.routerlogin.net or http://www.routerlogin.com will not work because the Orbi DNS will intercept them.) If you reached the modem login screen and it does not take "admin" and "password", that most likely means that someone changed the password. But.... who? Was it you, or did the ISP change them when the DSL Modem was installed?
The User Manual on page 77 indicates that pressing the reset button (inside the tiny hole) for at least 5 seconds will erase all user inputs and reset the credentials to "admin" and "password". You should be able to log in at http://192.168.5.1 and update firmware as described on page 72.

Or.... have I misunderstood the question?
p.s. I do not know how active it is, but Netgear has a community forum specifically for DSL modems and routers at
https://community.netgear.com/t5/DSL-Modems-Routers/bd-p/home-dsl-modems-routers Maybe if the question is posted in that forum, someone will comment, "oh, yeah. Know all about that."
