ORBI RBK50 - RBS50 & RBS40 Drops wireless and wired connection
I have contacted netgear support teams and they go through the same list of things to try and it never works! I am quite technical so the steps they are asking are basic and need more advanced support from someone i can undertsand and listens to the issue.
The forums seem to show this is an issue. I have an RBK50 + RBS50 and RBS40 & i constantly lose internet connection ( 8-10 times a day ). My BT hub ( ISP ) is still on and does NOT lose internet connectivity, it is only the ORBI wired and wireless connections that drop. My BT Hub wired and wireless connections still remain active and connected. Latest firmware on all orbi units.
In the house i have Nvidia Shield , Samsung S8+s , Multiple Samsung Smart TV's, PS4 , Samsung Tablets , IMAC , Amazon Kindle etc etc. So lots of devices from different companies!
When it drops its for around 30 seconds then comes back on. i bought these units to work effectively from home and having multiple drops of connectivity while on a video or audio call over IP is impossible. I am on the verge of throwing it away and buying a competitor. PLEASE HELP!!!! Is there a STABLE firmware that i can use?

Re: ORBI RBK50 - RBS50 & RBS40 Drops wireless and wired connection
This BT HUB, what is the model # of it?
This ISP modem have a built in router already? If so, it needs to be fully bridged, or if it can't be, use the DMZ on the modem for the Orbi routers IP address that the modem gives to the Orbi router. Disable any BT HUB wireless radios if the modem can't be bridged.
Use CAT6 LAN cableing between the modem and Orbi router.

Re: ORBI RBK50 - RBS50 & RBS40 Drops wireless and wired connection
Well the only way I made mine reliable is to downgrade the firmware to V2.0.1.4
And now I am just using as access point using the ATT for every thing else. Seems to be working properly this way.
And DMZ does not really work right with this modem. If you have IP passthrough on your ISP router use that

THe DMZ differs on ATT modems from BT HUB modems. The ATT modems don't have FULL DMZ Features.

Re: ORBI RBK50 - RBS50 & RBS40 Drops wireless and wired connection
Is it still having problems after configuring the ISP modem?
Is it dropping wireless singal or dropping internet access with the modem?
I would swap out LAN cables between the ISP modem and Router. Use CAT6 LAN patch cable.

Downgraded the firmware, not any better. Did not try the Cat 6 cable yet.

Re: ORBI RBK50 - RBS50 & RBS40 Drops wireless and wired connection
Is the modem in bridge mode? This is a modem/router gate way.
If not, use the DMZ for the NG routers WAN IP address it gets from the modem.
Also your modem is Intel based:
Something that you should be reviewed.
