We've recently been connected to HFC NBN through iiNet and can't get the Orbi to work anymore.
Current setup is NBN box Arris CM8200 with Cat5 cable into the WAN port of TP link AC1600 modem/router. This provides inadequate Wifi coverage for our house.
I have tried connecting the Orbi to the TP link AC1600 via ethernet with no luck.
I have tried direct connection of the Orbi with the Arris NBN box with no luck.
I have set the Orbi VLAN to 2, and I have tried powering down all the devices for over an hour while doing the above.
The Orbi worked perfectly until yesterday when we changed to NBN.
Any ideas much appreciated!

So I then just tried swapping which cable I was using, and it all works!
NBN box connected straight to Orbi, with different Cat5 cable, and everything synced.
Amazing and thanks for the help!!!

Re: Orbi RBR20 setup for NBN
Silly question probably: After reconfiguring with Orbi connected to NBN box Arris CM8200, did you perform a power-off reboot of the equipment above your Orbi and then your Orbi itself?

Remove the TP-Link router from the mix.

Re: Orbi RBR20 setup for NBN
Hi guys, I powered everything off for an hour and tried the following setup.
Arris>Cat5 cable>Orbi internet port. I used the Orbi app, and followed the steps for powering on (Arris on>connect to Orbi>power on Orbi router>power on Orbi satellite).
The Orbi transmits a wifi signal with the same name as the previous network, but shows as local connection only (ie no internet). I can't even get in their to update the Firmware.
I even tried resetting the Orbi but it still is bringing up the old wifi network name, so I'm not sure if this is where the conflict is?

Re: Orbi RBR20 setup for NBN
Can you try seting up the Orbi with a wire connected PC?
Might swap the LAN cable between the ISP modem and Orbi. Besure to power OFF the modem first for 30 seconds then back on. THen power ON the Orbi base. Walk thru the setup wizard at orbilogin.com in a web browser.

Re: Orbi RBR20 setup for NBN
I know this is getting tedious but still no luck.
I've tried connecting the Orbi to laptop with ethernet, and run the wifi with TP link modem.
Using the web browser to setup the Orbi I can get part of the way, but eventually gets stuck at no internet connection.
Tried iiNet help with no luck.

Re: Orbi RBR20 setup for NBN
Hi, can I please ask, into which port on the Orbi did you connect the Cat5 cable from the NBN box? The yellow one marked "internet" or one of the other 3 ethernet plugs?

The cable is in the yellow Internet port.
