RBR50 DISCONNECTING ON ALL DEVICES
Hi Everyone,
So i read lots of threads regarding this problem and I haven't seem to found the solution. I have the RBR 50 which has been working fine for the 5 months since i bought it, and just recenlty, the connection cuts at least once a day. After 1-2 mins I will reconnect all devices that are notmally connected to it. Other than this I have no issues with the router and sat. I have the latest firmware also. I'm not 100% sure but it seems to only cut while i'm on the x box also. Anyone have any suggestions?
PS: My internet connection is running at about 430mb/s on fibre.

Re: RBR50 DISCONNECTING ON ALL DEVICES
What Firmware version is currently loaded?
What is the Mfr and model# of the Internet Service Providers modem/ONT the NG router is connected too?
Has a power off for 1 minute then back on been performed since last update?
Has a factory reset and setup from scratch been performed since last FW update?
Any Wifi Neighbors near by? If so, how many?
Do you have an RBS or just the RBR only?

Re: RBR50 DISCONNECTING ON ALL DEVICES
Hey!
The firmware is V2.5.2.4. I have powered it off and on again but the result is the same as if i just let it reconnect by itself. I have not done a factory reset since the last update. We have 2 wifi neighbors but they aren't that close. I have an RBS connected also.

What is the distance between the router and satellite(s)? 30 feet or more is recommended in between RBR and RBS to begin with depending upon building materials when wirelessly connected.

Re: RBR50 DISCONNECTING ON ALL DEVICES
Is this your modem? https://videotron.com/en/support/helix/equipments/helix-fi-gateway
If it is, what mode is is configured for? Router or Bridged?
This would be a double NAT (two router) condition which isn't recommended. https://kb.netgear.com/30186/What-is-Double-NAT
https://kb.netgear.com/30187/How-to-fix-issues-with-Double-NAT
Couple of options,
1. Configure the modem for transparent bridge or modem only mode. Then use the Orbi router in router mode. You'll need to contact the ISP for help and information in regards to the modem being bridged correctly.
2. If you can't bridge the modem, disable ALL wifi radios on the modem, configure the modems DMZ/ExposedHost or IP Pass-Through for the IP address the Orbi router gets from the modem. Then you can use the Orbi router in Router mode.
3. Or disable all wifi radios on the modem and connect the Orbi router to the modem, configure AP mode on the Orbi router. https://kb.netgear.com/31218/How-do-I-configure-my-Orbi-router-to-act-as-an-access-point and https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=H7LOcJ8GdDo&app=desktop

Re: RBR50 DISCONNECTING ON ALL DEVICES
You're absolutly right. My NAT was double. I reconfigured it so that my router is the only access point. NAT is now open which is great. It's funny I just did this before you replied. Thanks, lets see if the disconnects stop!

Re: RBR50 DISCONNECTING ON ALL DEVICES
I recommend you downgrade FW to v16 on the RBS first then RBR lastly. Factory reset both RBS and RBR and setup from scratch. Configure AP mode again. You might try test with out the RBS connected at first to see if the problem continues with only the RBR...

Re: RBR50 DISCONNECTING ON ALL DEVICES
I did do a factory reset on the modem now. I'll see how the results are and then do the factory reset on the RBR and RBS. I know resetting the modem is probably ineffective but i'm going to stress all posibilities

Are you seeing any top ring LED indication on the RBR when this disconnection happens?

Re: RBR50 DISCONNECTING ON ALL DEVICES
Ok, sounds like something going on with the RBR for sure.
I would downgrade to v16 and perform the reset and setup from scratch. If this still happens after that, I would make contact with NG support to see what options you may have for this.
