Seriously slow speeds on satellites
I have an RBR20 orbi router and 2 satellites both rbs20, in my living room and the front of my house I can do speed tests and get speeds of 250mb download and 24mb upload and this is exactly what I expect.
As soon as I move to a room towards the back of the house and connect to either one of the satellites my speed drops down to around 2-6mbs and becomes practically unusable has anyone else had any issues and knows a way to get around this?
I have a sneaking suspicions that my sonos set up is causing this problem, if anyone has had any issues with this can they also let me know how they got round this!
Thanks in advance!

Re: Seriously slow speeds on satellites
People post so many problems with Sonos that I am happy not to have invested in them. (or have a need for them).
It might be worth looking at the backhaul statistics. Use the Orbi debug page (//<ip of orbi>/debug.htm), turn on Telnet, and then use a Telnet client (Windows has one that can be turned on on the Programs control panel page - it's a Windows Feature). I use Putty because I like to keep a log of my Orbi session.
Telnet to the Orbi router and type satelliteinfo wifi. Here is what my RBR50 to RBS50 shows:
{
"mac address" : "A0:04:60:0D:96:FA",
"hop" : "1",
"bridge mac" : "A0:04:60:0D:96:FA",
"backhaul conntype" : "5GHz",
"backhaul rssi" : "-68",
"backhaul macaddress" : "A0:04:60:0D:96:FD",
"backhaul phytxrate" : "780",
"backhaul phyrxrate" : "780",
"backhaul parentmac" : "A0:04:60:1C:02:39"
}
It's probably worth asking what the Orbi Attached Devices says about the two satellite. Is their connection "Good"?

Re: Seriously slow speeds on satellites
What Firmware is currently loaded?
What is the Mfr and model# of the ISP modem the NG router is connected too?
What is the size of your home? Sq Ft?
What is the distance between the router and satellite(s)? 30 feet is recommended in between them to begin with depending upon building materials when wirelessly connected.
What channels are you using? Auto? Try setting manual channel 1, 6 or 11 on 2.4Ghz and any unused channel on 5Ghz.
Any Wifi Neighbors near by? If so, how many?
Try enabling Beamforming and MIMO(MIMO may or maynot be needed) and WMM. Under Advanced Tab/Advanced Settings/Wireless Settings
Try disabling the following and see:
Daisy Chain, Fast Roaming, IPv6 and Set 20/40Mhz Coexistence to 40Mhz only. Save settings and reboot the router and satellite(s).
Test with out the Sonos connected to compare...
