Why Am I Not Getting the Speed

My admin app shows I am getting the more than 400mbs I am paying for but my computer speed tests are showing 1/4 on one computer and 1/8 on another.

What can I do to get my speed up?

Re: Why Am I Not Getting the Speed

No, 300Mpbs is a connection rate of the wifi adapter. Not wired. Connection rate is the link rate between the adapter and the source wifi signal only. The connection rate differs from actual thruput speeds.

Re: Why Am I Not Getting the Speed

I am running current firmware 2.3.5.32

HITRON E31N2V1

Windows 10

Cable is set up for 400 speed (I'm getting half that)

My computer is set up for wireless

Orbi admin tells me I should get more than 400. I'm getting low 200's

Re: Why Am I Not Getting the Speed

What are your wired results with the PC?

What is the mfr and model# of the wireless adapter in this PC?

https://kb.netgear.com/19668/Link-Rate-and-Transfer-Speed

What is the distance between the router and satellite(s)? 30 feet is recommended in between RBR and RBS to begin with depending upon building materials when wirelessly connected. https://kb.netgear.com/000036466/How-far-should-I-place-my-Orbi-satellite-from-my-Orbi-router

What channels are you using? Auto? Try setting manual channel 1, 6 or 11 on 2.4Ghz and any unused channel on 5Ghz.
Any Wifi Neighbors near by? If so, how many?

Try enabling Beamforming and MIMO(MIMO may or maynot be needed) and WMM. Under Advanced Tab/Advanced Settings/Wireless Settings

Try disabling the following and see:
Armor, Circle, Daisy Chain, Fast Roaming, IPv6 and Set 20/40Mhz Coexistence to 40Mhz only. Set Short preamble instead of Long preamble modes. Save settings and reboot the router and satellite(s).

I seem to have a hardware problem that is preventing direct connection.

A printer and its network is on the other side of my desk

Re: Why Am I Not Getting the Speed

With this model wifi adapter, 200Mpbs will be about max it will see and test with:

https://www.intel.com/content/www/us/en/products/wireless/wireless-products/dual-band-wireless-n-726...

Your wired LAN speeds should be to spec.

Re: Why Am I Not Getting the Speed

Just to make sure I am following, although the link says 300, that is for wired. For wifi, it drops to 200.

Is that correct?

Would you know if there is an upgrade path with Orbi (reduced cost purchase for former customers)?

Thanks for your help.
