Manuals are always a good place to start.
Visit the support pages:
Support | NETGEAR
Feed in your model number and check the documentation for your hardware.
Look for the model number on the label on the device.
That page will also have any software, firmware and drivers for your device, if they exist.
Check the section in the manual Update the router and satellite firmware

Re: orbi rbs50v2 ping spikes
Have you check for PL with a ethernet connected pc connected directly behind the ISP modem using pingplotter dot com app with out the RBR in the middle?
Try testing with a 2nd PC to compare results.
Has a power off for 1 minute then back ON with the ISP modem and router been performed since last update?
Be sure to restart your network in this sequence:
Turn off and unplug modem.
Turn off router and computers.
Plug in and turn on modem. Wait 2 minutes for it to connect.
Turn on the router and wait 2 minutes for it to connect.
Turn on computers and rest of network.
Has a factory reset and setup from scratch been performed since last FW update? A complete pull of the power adapters for a period of time after the factory reset then walk thru the setup wizard and setup from scratch with a wired PC and web browser. Recommend setting the default DHCP IP address pool range to the following after applying and a factory reset: 192.168.#.100 to 192.168.#.200.

I would power OFF the ISP modem for 1 minute. Factory reset the Orbi router and power it off. Power ON the ISP modem and let it sync. Then power ON the Orbi router and walk thru the setup wizard again using a wired PC and a web browser.
Press the back reset button for 15 seconds then release.

Don't enable any Access Controls, Armor, Circle or Traffic Meter.

Re: orbi rbs50v2 ping spikes
Hello @MrHottPocket ,
I understand that you are currently having ping spikes on your RBS50v2. In addition to @FURRYe38 recommendation, please try using the following DNS for your IPV4 DNS settings: (Primary) 8.8.8.8, secondary (8.8.4.4).
Best,
Kevin

Re: orbi rbs50v2 ping spikes
as you can see 60 ping along with the packet loss the packet loss will go to 0% then up to 1-5% loss and the ping spikes on top of that

Re: orbi rbs50v2 ping spikes
A ping time of 60ms does not seem unreasonable. I just pinged ford.com and got:
Pinging ford.com [19.12.113.37] with 32 bytes of data:
Reply from 19.12.113.37: bytes=32 time=74ms TTL=241
Reply from 19.12.113.37: bytes=32 time=76ms TTL=241
Reply from 19.12.113.37: bytes=32 time=75ms TTL=241
Reply from 19.12.113.37: bytes=32 time=75ms TTL=241
(That screen shot is not easy to read with the white characters on a light blue background.)
If the game is using UDP to reduce overhead, there is bound to be some packet loss. I have no understanding of what gamers expect in terms of packet loss.
Since this happens only when the game is played from a computer connected to the satellite, it has to be the WiFi backhaul link, and there is nothing the user can do to change it. The channel is set by Netgear. (157 in NA, 108 elsewhere)
Major Bummer.

Re: orbi rbs50v2 ping spikes
at this time i have now given up all hope that these routers will ever work again and they lasted only a year i would not recommend one because of the last 3 months of jumping through loopholes trying to fix it when there is no solution i have seen many other people with this complaint and i have seen no fix netgear should really take a look into this as it is a widespread issue with the orbis.

Re: orbi rbs50v2 ping spikes
well i had my isp come out and they found there was a broken line at the street and they replaced it and replaced my modem and that did not solve my issue so in is most definitely the orbis
