10 GB port question

Set up the new WiFi7 with 3 Sat Mesh Network. I can not wire. my backhaul So the 10GB ports are currently not used.

I want to connect a Netgear Prosafe Plus Switch GS108e to each 10GB port. So is this treated like the backhaul because the ports are being used, but the communication is still wireless between access points?  Is the rate then divided by the switch?

Any ideas for using these 10GB ports?   TV is plugged into the switch, should I put the TV directly into the port?

Thank for information any ideas

Welcome @Doug-48051 to the Netgear Community!

A little bit confusing at least. You try to add one GS108E to each of your Orbi WiFi 7 system boxes, say to have more LAN ports available on each of these devices? This won't make a wired backhaul, because you have no wired connection established between these Orbi WiFi 7 systems respectively the additional connected switches. Correct, the communication between the router and the satellites remains wireless.

If you need to connect only one device, no matter if it's a 10G, a MultiGig (5G or 2.5 G), a Gigabit, or even a Fast Ethernet device, you can connect one alone or add a switch to have more ports available near to each of the Orbi units.

Re: 10 GB port question

Thank you, the confusion for me came from the App showing my previous Orbi 853 Mesh as wired when I put a managed switch on both sides. I know it's not wired but the App was displaying differently.

Re: 10 GB port question

If your don't have anything to take advantage of the 10Gb port, then use the ETHERNET labled ports for your devices or GS series switch.
