I'm on 2.5.1.16 and it's offering me 2.5.2.4 . I have security and parental controls off.

Re: Orbi RBR50 2.7.0.70 is "out"
I have the RBRv2.
When logged into Orbi Admin, my system says no firmware update from v2.5.1.16. even though keep getting a message there is a firmware update.
On Netgear support, I do see the firmware update for the RBR50 router to 2.7.0.70 for USA only. I did find the same firmware for the satellites RBS50.
I don't understand if I should update or not. Orbi admin says I am on the current version and there is a firmware update. Does Netgear want us to update or not? Is the update still working perfectly?

Re: Orbi RBR50 2.7.0.70 is "out"
The 16 version is very stable. If Netgear was concerned about any problems they would push the 70 update. so my view is 70 is to solve problems with the 32 & 2.5.2.4 updates, along with a commercial desire to try & get us to adopt their child parental controls (instead of the Disney Circle).
I have updated to 70, and it works fine but doesn't seem to do anything better than 16. So I'd recommend not doing anything yet.
If/when you decide to update, don't forget you have to update the RBS50 satellites before the RBR50.

Re: Orbi RBR50 2.7.0.70 is "out"
FW updates are mostly up to you. IF it's not seen in the RBRs update page, it's recommended to keep using what is currently loaded. If you do see any notiifciations in the RBRs web page, it's up to users to choose weather or not to update. The files are availailable for users who wish to download the FW files and apply them manually as well or for troubleshooting problems.

Re: Orbi RBR50 2.7.0.70 is "out"
I just udpated to 2.7.0.70 on my RBK50 V1 (RBR50 and RBS50), the FW reseted my admin password I was able to reset the password since i had enable that option on the router setting long time ago. Besides that the FW looks pretty stable so far i guess will have to wait and see. I did the process entire manually since neither the iOS app or the web client was showing any udpates options. I'm not in the US but I used the 2.7.0.70 version anyways and I'm not a circle or user either.
I have to say that i cant believe how difficult is for us user to try to understad adecuate FW udpate process for diferrent versions of our ORBI system, this should be an automatic process for us all even transparent by default and with the working option of disabling auto updates.
I cant believe what a poor FW udpate and information support netgear profides to this $400+ USD device.
I wish they fix this, but honestly if they have not by now i'm sure they wont...

Re: Orbi RBR50 2.7.0.70 is "out"
v70 has been preceeded by:
and also:
If these don't work, then revert back to the version that was working.
v16 seems to have been stable for its time:
Good Luck.
