Hello,
We have some wireless access points that connect to the POE switch. Sometimes they drop connection. The wireless manufacturer has stated it would be better to disable POE on the switch ports where the wireless access points are connected to. How is this done please ?
Thank you

PoE is controlled by a handshake between the connected device and the switch port and it's power controller. There is no power in place unless it's negotiated as per the IEEE standards.
Consult the fine documentation - should not be difficult to locate: 24-Port Gigabit (Hi-Power) PoE+ Ethernet Smart Managed Pro Switch with 2 SFP Ports and Cloud Managem... p.92 ff.
System > PoE > Advanced > PoE Port Configuration
8. From the Admin Mode menu, select the administrative PoE mode of the port:
- Enable. The port’s capacity to deliver power is enabled. This is the default setting.
- Disable. The port’s capacity to deliver power is disabled.

Curious:
The Ethernet link is dropped? If yes, this should be easy to see on the switch (hint: logs ....) and the switch. In general, an Ethernet link is rock solid - except if the L0 (wiring) isn't reliable and standards compliant.
Please share make and firmware of the wireless AP making issues FMI.

Re: Disable POE on Switch
Sorry, I didnt fully explain.
Good to know how to disable POE.
The POE ports connected to the wireless devices does not need disabling, it's the POE ports connected to the Internet filtering UTM device. The manufacturer said to disable POE on this port on the Netgear switch.
Thank you
