readynas 102 cannot connect to readycloud app
Hi, I have a netgear readynas 102, I know it's one of the older models but it worked like a charm until last week. First my pc would not connect anymore, then my mobile app, now the laptop app is not connecting anymore. The only way to connect to it is through my internet browser, but i cannot seem to download my files to store them succesfully elsewhere. Can anybody help me to safely download my files so i would not have lost 5+ years of photo's and digital work?
I tried upgrading the firmware, it says i have the latest, yes it will not work.
Thanks in advance!

Re: readynas 102 cannot connect to readycloud app
If you have been using ReadyCloud, ReadyCloud has been discontinued. You will need to set up local account(s) and access via SMB, FTP, etc. If you have any files stored in a ReadyCloud users' home folder, you'll have to manually move them as admin. You cannot log in locally using a ReadyCloud account nor can you give a local user access to a ReadyCloud user's home folder.

Re: readynas 102 cannot connect to readycloud app
No, you've not been under a rock. Netgear management has. They put an announcement here and on the ReadyCloud web portal with no thought at all the most users don't have any reason to go there. Even though every ReadyCloud user logs in using their email account name, they sent out no notices to those email addresses. And when they took the portal down, they didn't leave any notice in its place that ReadyCloud has been terminated -- they left it to the users to figure out why they no longer have access.
Beginning with OS6 units, Netgear pushed users to use ReadyCloud instead of the local interface, even if they had no need for remote access. It was part of their marketing of a ReadyNAS as a "personal cloud" (which it most certainly is not). Then, they pulled that very rug out from under the users.
