PC App for ReadyNAS Duo
I am using ReadyNAS Duo, firmware 4.1.10. Photos II (v2.2) is installed according to the add-ons page, but I have no idea how to access it. Is there an app for the PC I need to install? If I click the "Install ReadyNAS Photos" button it opens a web page with an Error 404.

Re: PC App for ReadyNAS Duo
Not sure how you installed it, but photos II is not available for the Duo V1 products (which you have if you are running 4.1.10).
Is it possible that you installed photos 1? If so, that doesn't work anymore.

No, it says Photos II, v2.2. And it was there when I upgraded the firmware; I didn't add it myself. It used to work - perhaps the problem is the firmware upgrade.

Yes.

And photos 1 no longer works - the internet servers it needs have been taken down.
So this is not related to your firmware upgrade, and there is presently no Netgear photos package that works on your NAS.

Re: PC App for ReadyNAS Duo
Other than the firmware version, how do I know if I have a Duo v2 or not?

Re: PC App for ReadyNAS Duo
Thanks. This also answered my question about migration - I gather not possible. I assume, though, I can transfer data across the network if I have extra disks? How about taking the redundant disk form the old NAS; reformatting on the new; transferring data; then moving the other disk and reformatting and mirroring?

Re: PC App for ReadyNAS Duo
Would be possible though of course there would be a little more risk. Personally I'd go with new disks. If you're considering a new ReadyNAS I'd recommend the Ultra/Ultra Plus/Pro.
