Orbi RBR40 iPhone App
Yesterday I upgraded my iPhone to 18.4 and I can no longer login to the Orbi app. Everything works fine and I can access my router config via my browser, on my Mac, but unable to access via my iPhone Orbi App. I continue to get "Logon timed out, please try again. If this issue persists, try rebooting your device.
Unfortunately, rebooting device, even my modem & Orbi, doesn't help and I continue to get the error. I have looked up in several places and never could find an actual workaround for this problem.
Any help is greatly appreciated.
My system is:
Router: RBR40 V.2.7.5.6
Satellites: RBS20 (2 of them) V.2.7.5.6
iPhone 15 Pro iOS 18.4

I am having the same issue after updating to IOS 18.4. Have an RBR50 with one satellite. Using app on iPhone 16 and iPad. Rebooted several times and reinstalled app. Same “Logon timed out error.”

UPDATE: I just got off the phone with Tier 2 Netgear tech. It appears that iOS 18.4 release did affect the iPhone Orbi app. V2.44.0 is the current version of the app and a new one is due out in next few weeks (hopefully the end of the month). It was refreshing to understand this is now a known issue (18.4 is a new OS) and that Netgear is working on a fix.
You can always logon through your browser and manage any configuration needs in the meantime.
- ricemanAspirantThanks for posting this. Wished I would’ve saw this post sooner. Noticed I was having this problem and it was driving me crazy. Did 2 factory resets which obviously didn’t fix it. I ordered a new mesh system since a lot are on sale. Might have to cancel/return it now. RBR40 and its satellites have worked good for me since 2018.

I am having the same problem with Orbi app on iphone 15pro after I did latest update to ios 18.4.1. I am able to log into the app using my MacBook Pro. I have tried all the suggested fixes nothing works.

I also have the same issue after updating to iOS 18.4 — the Orbi app won’t let me log in and keeps showing the "Logon timed out, please try again" error. I’ve tried rebooting everything too (iPhone, modem, and Orbi), but it didn’t help. Would really appreciate if someone has found a fix or workaround for this.
Which Orbi model do you have?
What FW version is loaded on the system?
Have you tried a factory reset and setup from scratch using Orbi app on a phone or pad and walk thru the setup routine with the app?
Be sure to disable any MAC Address randomizers on phones and pads while at home before you start the setup routine with the Orbi app:

- vrai1024TutorI have the same issues and others. My iOS auto updated last night to 18.4.1 and I can no longer access my orbi app. It asked me for the admin credentials which I gave and then it reported a “login timeout” error. Apparently I had blocked my son’s iPad and he needed to do some last minute schoolwork this morning on it. What an unpleasant morning this has been. I can access the website from my computer and I tried to unblock him that way. But he’s still blocked. I think because I need my app to unblock him too. Anyway I can’t get in my app. Following an article on netgear I deleted the app, reinstalled the app, and now I’m still getting the same admin/PW request together with the “login timeout” error. Is there a workaround? Is orbi going to update the app? I now can’t see or do anything with it since I deleted it and reinstalled it and stuck with the inability to move past the admin/pw page with an erroneous timeout error issue. Do advise how to get past this. Thanks.

vrai1024, you can use the website to unblock your son's iPad. I manage my MAC addresses as well and have had to use the website to make adjustments and it works fine. The UI is a bit different so make sure you are making the change and saving. It works every time for me.
It would be nice to have the app working as I get tired of going to my office to make fixes when it can be easily done from the phone but that is where we are at.
- vrai1024TutorThank you! Maybe I didn’t save it on the website. I would far and away prefer the app updating but now mine is totally useless since I deleted/reinstalled following instructions on a netgear help page. Maybe orbi will push an app update soon. Anyway thanks again for the reminder to save the changes online. And I am glad to know I’m not the only one having these problems since iOS 18.4.1

how will we know when it is fixed? thanks

because NG doesn't communicate with customers the only way I can tell is look at the App Store and see what version is available. Not very customer friendly!

This issue has been on going for over 6 weeks now and it looks like on several models of Orbi's too. I do know both the Orbi app has had an update and the iOS was updated as well and the problem persists !

I too have this issue and it has been going on for weeks. I too have tried everything suggested, such as rebooting systems and reinstalling the app. I have wasted a lot of time on this.
I share the frustration expressed in this thread, both with the performance of the app and the (lack) communication from NETGEAR - PWJAspirant
Today, 5/18/25 I updated my Apple iPhone 15 to iOS 18.5. Same problem with the Orbi App "Logon timed out".

PWJ, same issue here. Upgrade to 18.5, app still worthless!
