Can you download the log zip file, and copy/paste mdstat.log here?

This shows just one volume (with 5 disks) - no sign of backup8tb. The OS partition is degraded (it does say it is supposed to have 6 disks).
Is ssh enabled? I'm wondering if what is in /data/.apps

Did you inadvertently forst export the wrong volume? Or did you do anything to the main volume while the "backup" volume was in place? I have created symptoms similar to what you describe when doing volume manipulations, but mostly ones that really should never be performed.
And FYI, your method of creating a backup is really not a good one. Not only is the NAS not designed for a large number of drive insertions and removals, you are trusting the export/import mechanization far too much. An exported drive cannot typically be booted properly on it's own, either. You neeed a primary volume to already exist.
