Re: AC1750
If you mean there is no cable connection betweeon router WAN port and modem LAN port, of course no access to the 'net.

You should be able to set up a Netgear AC1750 router as a "access point". I'm not sure if that is what you mean by a "booster" or not.
Can you let us know exactly what model number you have?

It's hard to give you specific info withoug knowing what you have. There should be a product number on the label where the serial number is.
Current AC1750 routers include the R6250, R6300v2, R6400, and the R6700. There is also the C6300 gateway. All have similar shapes.

There are a couple of different technologies here - repeaters, extenders, and access points. They work bit a differently. Most Netgear routers can act as access points, some can act as repeaters. I'm not aware of any that can act as an extender.

Re: AC1750
Great, that helps. If it says "R6300v2" then it's a somewhat newer version. If it says only "R6300" it's the original v1.
The manual for your model is here: http://www.downloads.netgear.com/files/GDC/R6300/R6300_UM_18Jun12.pdf
The R6300 can be used as a WiFi access point. It has a "repeater" mode, but you shouldn't use it. It's not secure, and it's limited to 802.11g speeds.
What is the model of your ISP router? We can possibly compare it ot your R6300 and see which has better wifi.
