Expired router

We got our router from the precious owner of our apartment. The router was bought in 2015. Router R6100. We have been in the apartment sinne august 2024, but now, in 2025, we can’t fine the WiFi Network name(SSID) when trying to lov into the internet. Is the router expired? It was stated in our lease agreement that we only needed a router. Why does it not work in the new year?

Re: Expired router

Factory reset the router and setup from scratch with a PC and web browser?

How fast is your Internet connection?

The R6100 is an old (2013) and slow router. If you pay for an Internet connection that is faster than 100 Mbps, you are wasting money.

According to Netgear's manual for this device, not always the most reliable source of information, the LAN and WAN ports support only 10BASE-T or 100BASE-TX. That makes it slower than many newer internet services and most modern network hardware.

You don't say what connects you to the Internet. That may also be important.
