Fast connection not showing on devices

Fast connection not showing on devices

The faster connection only shows on mobile devices. Have had this router connected for about a year successfully, suddenly would only show the slow connection option. Changed all SSID names and passwords, reset the router, turned everything on and off. Will still not allow non-mobile devices to connect to the fast speed. Not even when plugged in directly to the router. Anyone else dealt with this issue or know how to fix it?

1. What is the model number and firmware version of the router?

2. Are you referring to the 5GHz band (fast) and 2.4GHz (slow) band?

3. Please make sure that "Enable SSID Broadcast" option is checked for the 5GHz band.

4. Please make sure your non- mobile devices support the 5GHz band.

I am working on how to find out if my computer recieves 5 gig wifi? I could swear it does because when we first got this router it was FAST.   Now it will only recognize the slow connection for some reason.

Hi @gheinrich,

 

You can check the wireless adapter properties of the desktop and check if it supports wireless AC. You can try getting the model number and do a search to check if it does support 5GHz.
