R220 failing to upgrade

My Router (R6220) is currently running on firmware V1.1.0.64_1.0.1. I am trying to upgrade to the current (V1.1.0.68) and it consistently fails. It goes through the motions of upgrading, but instead of completing the upgrade, the router just hangs and I have to power cycle it.
Does anyone have any suggestions on how I can upgrade?
thanks for the help
Bill

How are you doing the update? With the browser interface or with a download.
There is support for the R6220 somewhere at the end of this link:
>>> R6220 | Product | Support | NETGEAR <<<
It might be easiest to read and follow the release notes for the new firmware:
R6220 Firmware Version 1.1.0.68 | Answer | NETGEAR Support
If that fails, you could try a factory reset of the router before you apply the upgrade. And if possible use a wired connection to the router. That reduces the risk of a wifi failure disrupting the process and leaving you with broken firmware.
