R6400 AC1750 Connect USB Hard drive
I am trying to connect a My Book 6TB hard drive to the 3.0 USB port. Model number; WDBBB0060HBK-NESN
The hard drive is not showing up in the Ready Share panel.
Is this a non supported hard drive or do I have another problem?
Thanks

Is that a Western Digital box?
According to this:
ReadySHARE USB Drives Compatibility List | Answer | NETGEAR Support
The WD My Book Essential 4TB is fine. I have used two different large devices including a 4TB WD Elements as well as an 8TB Seagate Seagate BackupPlus Hub. They don't appear in the list for my R7800 router, but they work. Those lists are out of date and far from comprehensive.
Can you get anything to work with the R6400?
Remember that ReadySHARE is picky about formatting and partitioning. Mine are as delivered, but if you have played around with yours, that might explain things.

Re: R6400 AC1750 Connect USB Hard drive
Yes it is a WD Western Digital, forgot to put that on. The WD My Book is new, other than I did a back up on it direct from the computer.
Everything else is working fine. I had a label printer on the 2.0 USB and it worked fine.
I haven't tried any other type of storage device.

Re: R6400 AC1750 Connect USB Hard drive
I pugged in a very old WD My Book and it came up no problem!
So what does that tell me?

That maybe your drive is not compatible.
After all, your 2015 vintage R6400 is a bit long in the tooth.

Re: R6400 AC1750 Connect USB Hard drive
That is a concern I had. I can't find any information on compatibility.
