Can you not change the default lease time on these? I can't find the setting anywhere. Every router I've ever owned I've been able to do this. This is a great router otherwise, but I'd really like to change this.

Yeah, I know it should be smooth...but sometimes that doesn't happen...and it's probably a Windows issue from what I have learned, as it will happen on some computers and not others...either way, long lease time prevents people occassionly losing their connection every day and I don't have to listen to their whining =). It's worked for me over the years...I prefer a longer least time, that's all.
It's really pointless talking about this with this router anyway, as it can't be changed. Thanks, though.

You cannot change the lease time.

Yep, first Netgear router...Because it's not always a smooth process when it renews sometimes...I've always made it more than one day on my home networks. Oh well, great router, otherwise.

Re: R6400 Change DHCP Lease Time
It should be a smooth process. Most devices renew their leases halfway through the lease period, so there should be plenty of time for that to complete.
You are doing something to subvert it or the router has a bug. Powering off the router, for example, invalidates the leases, so make sure to avoid that.

Re: R6400 Change DHCP Lease Time
I think you would agree that a longer lease time is not a fix. It's merely sweeping the problem under the rug. Better to fix the root cause. Anyway, good luck.
