R7000 to use WNR100 for connecting to security camera
I flashed my R7000 w/ a VPN's access code, wIth the understanding that all devices accessing Internet via my R7000 would go by way of the VPN. The trouble wIth that is, i can no longer get to the original settings/controls for the R7000. When I attempt to log on via a web browser, I get the webpage prepared and flashed onto the R7000 by my VPN provider.
Recently I got an outdoor security camera. I can connect to it via my old N150 wireless router WNR1000 because it operates at the slower speed appropriate to the camera. I don't want to give up my R7000 and VPN functionality. I want to use the old router to connect to the camera, the newer router to connect to the old router, and have the newer router, R7000, connect to the Internet.
The documentation for the R7000 is very poor wIth regard to speaking of "the router" and "the router" without giving me any indIcation of whIch is whIch. I remember settIng up the R7000 the fIrst tIme and having several passwords involved and never beIng sure whIch password was beIng demanded at whIch poInt of the setup procedure. Recently I discovered that "username" is a term applied to the router of all thIngs. It's in prInt so small and so gray on the case that to see it I need a bright light or a magnifying glass.
Are there clear instruction on how to run the older router out of the newer router? If so, where are those instructIons? (When instructIons say "access poInt or bridge" does that mean "access poInt" AKA "bridge"? Or does it mean settIng up an access poInt is one way to do it and settIng up a bridge is another way to do it? If so, what is the difference in the end result?)

"a VPN's access code"? Whose what? Do you mean that you loaded some (unidentified) third-party firmware onto your R7000?

If you replaced the Netgear firmware with some other firmware, then the Netgear firmware is gone. And complaints or questions about the (unidentified) third-party firmware should probably be directed to the (unidentified) third-party.

"slower speed"? Do you mean the 2.4GHz radio band? What makes you think that the R7000 doesn't use the 2.4GHz radio band (regardless of whose firmware it's running)?

Huh? _Whose_/_which_ "The documentation for the R7000" are you viewing? It's documentation for a router. How many R7000 routers have you?

Do you remember reading the R7000 User Manual? (I'd guess not.)
Visit http://netgear.com/support , put in your model number, and look for Documentation. Get the User Manual (at least). Read. Look for "Types of logins". Further reading might not hurt, either. I'd expect most of that to apply to your (unidentified) third-party firmware, too, but you might want to consult the documentation for that, too, whatever it might be.

Look for "Types of logins" in the User Manusl. Sometimes, reading the documentation can actually be helpful.

It might help if you explained the actual problem which you are trying to solve, preferably in terms which make sense to people other than you.
