Hi,
I am having trouble installing the ReadyShare USB Printer (ReadySHARE USB Printer MAC_V2.36) on macOS High Sierra. Whenever the installation completes and the machines reboots, Netgear USB Control Center is giving the following error message
" Installation is incomplete! Please reinstall again. "
How do i fix this? Or is the software incompatible with High Sierra? Kindly advice.
Thanks,
Darren

Re: ReadySHARE USB Printer for macos High Sierra - Installation Is Incomplete
I have the same problem after upgrading for Sierra to High Sierra (not to say it was not erratic before). I suspect it is the incompatability for the new OSX version. Netgear is slow to make updates for Mac users if at all. I will continue to monitor to see what they do about it.

Re: ReadySHARE USB Printer for macos High Sierra - Installation Is Incomplete
Just installed the R7800 Smart WiFi router and when trying to download the 'USB Control Centre utility' the website comes up with file not found.
Any ideas?

Re: ReadySHARE USB Printer for macos High Sierra - Installation Is Incomplete
same problem here,
removed old app reinstalled new app, says installation incomplete. looks like im gonna have to move the laser printer next to my mac so i can print to it. tbh the app hardly ever worked anyway before i upgraded to high constant restarts to get it to print, i need to find a better solution to the problem.. i might just go with another brand as the QOS is messed up on this router aswell

Re: ReadySHARE USB Printer for macos High Sierra - Installation Is Incomplete
I was having the same problem, having to restart (router, PC, printer - sometimes all 3 at once) just to get the connected printer to print. It showed it was in Ready status, but kept getting printer error messages on my PC. The problem turned out to be my printer USB cable, which is about 15 feet long. Even though it was less than a year old, once I replaced it with an Anker cable of the same length and the problem went away.
That was a month ago. I now have a new issue - the USB Control Center doesn't want to connect with my printer. I can switch from "Available" status to "Mannually Connected by (PC name)". After 10 minutes it disconnects. IDK if this was caused by the router firmware update, or the Win-10 update a few days ago, since they were both just a couple of days apart. I'm leaning toward the Win-10 being the culpret, since I was able to print after updating the router.

Yeah, still waiting here for Mac iOS 10.13 update too 😞 I might just opt to purcahse a standalone print server...
It just seems as though this is planned obsolescence - I'm comfortable and aware that drivers update, etc., but this is just a real pain that I can count on long term use.

Re: ReadySHARE USB Printer for macos High Sierra - Installation Is Incomplete
Instead of using this very poor software, use the built in drivers in OSX. I can by pass this software and directly print to the IP of the router. Follow these steps.
System Preferences> Printers & Scanners
Add a printer
Select IP on the top menu
in the Address box put in the ip of the router
select HP Jetdirect - Socket
in the Use Box, select your printer software
and hit add.
On my setup, it works perfectly and super fast.

Re: ReadySHARE USB Printer for macos High Sierra - Installation Is Incomplete
Would that work for non-HP printers? What would happen if you left it at Internet Protocol Printing?
The 2.4 utility does work, it is just that it has to constantly be reconnected upon start-up and if it has been left idle for a while. Do others know a work-around for that problem?

Yep, my printer is a Brother Lazer printer. I had no problem printing to it via this method.

The protocol (using port 9100) was developed by HP, but adopted much
more widely.
