moving files between shares using mobile app (Readynas 104)

Not sure this is an issue with my NAS drive but just seeking some advice.
Basically i have an android app on my mobile that allows me to connect to my NAS drive using SMB. When i move files from one share folder to another the speeds are very slow. Is the limititation the phone? I have also tried FTP and still very slow speeds. To move a 1Gb file between shares on the NAS takes about 20mins.
If i use my windows 10 machine to move files between shares the speeds are as expected, very fast. Moving a 1Gb file takes about 2 seconds.
I want to be able to manage my shares, move files ect using my phone so i do not have to keep loading up my PC. Any help on best solution would be great.
I have readycloud on my phone but this is very limited and does not seem to let you manage files within shares. It only lets me download a file from my NAS to my phone and thats not what i want to do.
