AC6200 USB 2.0 VS USB 3.0 MODE
Hi Team,
I was wondering which is stable and provide max throughput.
So far wireless adapters never reached the max theoritical or practical throughput of USB 2.0 ie 40+ MBps.
Hardly 20 Mbps is max achieved via wireless adaptors. Though Bridge is difference scenario altogether.
I was wondering which is better a6200 usb 2.0 or 3.0 . As i seen posts and feedback for the adaptor reaching 867 Mbps to min of 520Mbps when see real data transfer can range from 20-60MBps.
if the speed link is 360 we can 30MB +
520 We can 40MB+
867 we can 80MB+
I dont see high speed is possible even if the adaptor is close to router
As no internet that fast evne if so router cant reach that max. Even if its connected storage hardly 60Mbps is possible even with usb.3.0 flash drive with fastest read speed of 240+MBps is there max is 60Mbps
But when done via wired it is different.
I am not sure if the wifi speed needs to go beyond 60MBps does the usb 3.0 really helps in that.
Anything beyond 50MBps is good

Re: AC6200 USB 2.0 VS USB 3.0 MODE
what no change. Can you elaborate.
The speed on 2.0 vs 3.0 change is visible if you use the right medium/
It can go upto 40MB/s on usb 3.0 but only 33MB/s on 2.0 max speed.
As port limitation is the cause not the wifi bandwidth limitation.

Just to be clear, the A6200 is a USB 2.0 Wi-Fi adapter. It doesn't support USB 3.0. It can be plugged into a USB 3.0 port, but that port will run in USB 2.0 mode. Any speed differences are you seeing must be due to differences between the computer's handling of the USB 3.0 vs 2.0 port.

Re: AC6200 USB 2.0 VS USB 3.0 MODE
As reading from attached USB 2 gets you 18MBps but same if you read from USB 3.0 can reach 33MBps
It matters which band you are connected and connection rate as well

I agree but you pointed no difference. Yes there is difference as it matters how you transfer files. Say pc-pc USB 2.0 to pc or USB 3.0 to pc.
Are you talking about a direct USB cable connection between 2 PCs? How is that relevant to this discussion?
My point is that a USB 3.0 port with an A6200 plugged into it is going to run in USB 2.0 mode.
As reading from attached USB 2 gets you 18MBps but same if you read from USB 3.0 can reach 33MBps
Is this with your A6200?

Correct.
