Hi guys,
I need a GigaBit switch for my home network, maybe I will insert the switch into the wall (in a sort of box).
I see the site suggests me to buy GS205 or GS605, but what is the difference of between these models?
And why shouldn't I buy GS105 or GS305?

Re: GS105, GS205, GS305 or GS605?
Hello j0kky,
Welcome to the community!
The switches mentioned have the same functionality since they are all gigabit switches. They differ though in enclosures used, plastic for 200 series (GS205) and metal for 300 series (GS305). They pretty much have the same standards so any of the switches should work. The GS605 model is EOL(End of life) and the GS105 is an old model so I might consider getting the 205 or the 305 instead. If you want to know more about the switches and their differences please click on the following links: 200 Series Switches, 300 Series Switches.

Re: GS105, GS205, GS305 or GS605?
Hi j0kky,
Yes, you are correct. the older versions have been EOL'ed the V5 has gone through some changes on aesthetics and probably different chips used. All of these models are fanless because they don't really generate that much heat. But if you are going to ask me, I'll go for the metal versions.
Thanks,
