DLNA -> PS3 strange "signal 15"
Hi,
in the last period, about 1-2 months my DLNA -> PS3 streaming has been erratic.
When I browse a folder in the PS3, (sometimes) it is empty, and after a few seconds it gets filled.
And this happens a bit all over the place.
Before that, it has been working perfectly for years.
I have a ReadyNAS NV+ fully updated.
Now I've looked at the logs and I can see something like:
[2012/09/23 18:42:36] minidlna.c:153: warn: received signal 15, good-bye
[2012/09/23 18:42:36] minidlna.c:881: warn: Starting ReadyDLNA version 1.0.25.

[2012/09/23 19:13:09] playlist.c:125: warn: Parsing playlists...
[2012/09/23 19:13:10] playlist.c:258: warn: Finished parsing playlists.
I am a bit worried about those "Creating new database..." and the signal 15 (= SIGTERM).
Is it crashing or similar?
I did not tell it to rescan anything. The rescan has been turned off in the GUI days ago
Any suggestions?

- audettoAspirantOr maybe it is a PS3 change. Who knows?
I think the log I sent earlier is not relevant.
The PS3 says DLNA error 2104.
I will try to enable the debug and see if there is anything more. - devilsrearAspirantHi
How are you connecting your PS3 to the DLNA server? This usually happens when there is a poor connection - are you going via wireless?
Try:-
go to Network Settings>UPNP and disable it, then re-enable it and it fixes itself
Maybe try a wired connection - I'm using a develo dlan homeplug to connect my ps3 to my nas (via a switch) - this works perfectly

I ask because I have similar issues when I connect not than 1 client simultaneously. I have a both a SMART Samsung TV and a SMART monitor and they both have DLNA clients. These can be connected simultaneously (wired LAN) but using them together normally ends in tears with a complete rescan or server stop start required. I recently tried to add a Raspberry Pi running Raspxbmc (wireless) and this never works if I have the TV or monitor working.
Does anybody know when Skywalker will return? - matsleightAspirantI have broadly this problem too. I can play media fine (even 1080p) but when I try to browse my media using folder structure - get the 2104 error on PS3. Often I cannot see files/folders or they report as null.
What I have noticed is that if I go and show all videos eventually I can find the one I wanted, but the folder structure never gets updated so I cannot find the file I just played using the folders method.
Listing hundreds of files just to get to the one that no doubt starts with a late letter in the alphabet is quite tedious!
PS3 shows 100% wifi signal - streaming via BBC Iplayer etc all works fine too so I don't think its a network capacity issue. I am using a Readynas NV latest radiator/readydlna- could it be the NV is not quick enough to create the folders as a client browses via PS3 - hence the error?
I'll try the unpnp untick/tick next time. Anything else I should try?
