Netgear ReadyNas Duo V2 - no disks detected
I have a ReadyNas Duo V2 with a 2TB installed. This device has worked absolutley perfectly with no issues for a number of years UNTIL TODAY. I was streaming some media from the device and all off a sudden I lost connection to the device.
The status on RAIDAR just says ‘No disks detected’. This message appears even when I try to boot without a disk.
I have been unable to re-establish a connection with the device or regain access to the device. Initally, when I checked RAIDAR the device name seemed to have changed and initally the ip address was 192.168.168.168. Previously I had a static ip address for the NAS and it worked perfectly for years.
When I try restarting the device it begins to boot and you can hear the hard drive turn on as normal. After this all that happens is the blue activity light on the front of the NAS keeps flashing.
I tried a lot of the solutions menitoned on the community like trying the different boot modes. None of these made any difference and did not provide a solution. When I booted in 'tech mode' I got error code 54380 on RAIDAR.
I also tried connecting to the device directly by connecting the ethernet cable to my laptop and configuring my network properties. I noticed that after doing this and reconnecting the NAS to my router the ip address changed to 192.168.0.30.
I have not had any luck accessing the admin page too.
I am at a loss at what to do. Ideally, I want to bring my NAS back to life but at the very least I want to ensue my files arent lost. I have no backup.
Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks

What firmware is it running?
Does it say ReadyNAS Duo on the front panel, or does it say ReadyNAS Duo v2?
Note I am not asking about labels, as they are misleading. But if your NAS runs 4.1.x firmware, and says ReadyNAS Duo on the front panel, then it is the original Duo (called v1 here), not the v2.

Of course it will say "no disks detected" if you boot without a disk.
Is there a pattern to the blinking LEDs on the NAS? If there is, does it match any of these patterns
LED blink behavior for 2 disk systems is three quick blinks of all disk LEDs and the backup LED,
followed by an 1s delay, followed by a number of slow blinks.
The number of slow blinks will be the error code. Current error codes: 1 - Vendor mismatch 2 - No disks detected 3 - Bad contents on root partition of disks 4 - Flash error 5 - Unsupported RAID configuration

That's actually not an error code. Tech Support Mode can be used locally if you know how, but it also allows Netgear support to access your NAS. If you were using remote support, they would ask for that code.

First power up the NAS and see if the LED codes match a pattern.
Then connect the disk to a Windows PC (either with a USB adapter/dock or via SATA). Windows won't mount the disk, but the manufacturer's diagnostic package should be able to locate and test it. Use Seatools for Seagate disks, and either WD's Lifeguard or Digital Dashboard software for Western Digital.
Hopefully the disk hasn't completely failed - if it has, then your data is almost certainly lost.

Re: Netgear ReadyNas Duo V2 - no disks detected
The NAS is definitely a v2 and is running the latest firmware.
In regards to the blinking, on boot the power light comes on and then the activity light constantly blinks. No other lights blink.
Can I use a SATA to USB to connect the hard drive to my Windows laptop.
Thanks for the help.
Thank you

Previously it was working perfectly. No idea what caused the fault

The chassis isn't repairable - the only thing that can be replaced is the power adapter.
But based on the info you provided, I think it's likely that the NAS is ok, and the disk failed.
If you have a spare disk (with no useful data on it), you could try inserting it into the NAS, and see if it is detected or not.
