    Hello silverjay9,

    Welcome to the community!

You mentioned you have tried the reset button at the rear panel, do you have full back up of the files? Please note that resetting to factory defaults will not only delete the configuration you have but also all the data.

You can also try connecting the NAS straight to the computer that has the RAIDar. If RAIDar still doesn't see it, remove the disks. (Please make sure you label the disks, it is important that you put them back to their respective bays when you inserting them to the NAS)

Once disks are out, check if RAIDar detects the NAS. If it still doesn't, try another computer. Make sure you are using a known working cable. If all get you the same results, it may be best you contact support to check for it warranty.

    Regards,

Do the blinking lights match one of the codes below?

LED blink behavior for 2 disk systems is three quick blinks of all disk LEDs and the backup LED, followed by an 1s delay, followed by a number of slow blinks. The number of slow blinks will be the error code.

      Current error codes:
      1 - Vendor mismatch
      2 - No disks detected
3 - Bad contents on root partition of disks
      4 - Flash error
      5 - Unsupported RAID configuration

        Hello silverjay9,

The idea of connecting the NAS straight to the computer is to eliminate the possibility of the network's router isn't giving out a valid IP and not seeing the NAS. The purpose of removing the disks is to check if the chassis is still good because RAIDAr should still be able to detect your chassis with or without any disks inserted. And since there is no DHCP between the connection of the NAS and computer (direct connection), the NAS will use its default IP address.

If your NAS isn't still detected by the RAIDar without any disks, then that must be it. The problem here is retrieving the data. The model you have is already EOL, so if you are going to get a new ReadyNAS, that will be a ReadyNAS OS6 version. If your disks till have data and they are important to you, there is a hope to be able to retrieve the data using the ReadyNAS OS6, that is through support team. I suggest contacting them first before doing anything when retrieving the data from the disks used on a legacy NAS to a ReadyNAS OS6.
