Unable to delete Plex App from Netgear Readynas #24845597
Hello guys and girls ,
I dont know if this is the right section for this querry but i need your help.
my netgear readynas 316 plex app recently has been playing up i tried to update the version of the plex server and the app turned off automatically, when i clicked on the turn on button it automatically reverts to the off switch in readynas so which means my plex app is unable to start running so i decided to delete the app and reinstall it. and for some weird reason im unable to delete the plex app as it wont delete (see attached screen shot) the file is obviously corrupt.
Can someone please tell me how to successfully uninstall my plex app if they have come into this problem before without resulting to factory reset.
Thank you looking forward to your help/suggestions.
I have contacted Netgear support and yet no one has called me back, so maybe you guys will be able to help out
Regards

- mdgm-ntgrNETGEAR Employee RetiredIf you download the logs are there any clues in systemd-journal.log as to why the uninstall failed?
- tnzableAspirantHi mdgm
i havent seen any clues in the log.. any suggestion on how to go about this? because Netgear support is not getting back to me after 4 days

- williams_nestAspirantHi,
Did you solve this problem? I am in the same boat.
Same OS version - would upgrade the PLEX - it went bad - and now Plex wont start - upgrade or uninstall.
Life without Plex ...... new experience :-( - williams_nestAspirantDear mdgm - you are the hero :-)
After a reboot I was now able to reinstall Plex
But only the one in the built in "mini app store" - and Plex got some more recent version on their download page.
Especially when you have Plex Pas.
Does anybody here know how upgrade Plex to 9.11.17 downloaded specific for my NAS? - mdgm-ntgrNETGEAR Employee RetiredThere is an upload button on the Apps tan of the Dashboard. You can browse for the Intel 6.x deb downloaded from plex.tv
- Equinox1GuideI tried to upload the latest versions from PMS from the plex website, and it installed. But when I turned it on, it gave an error I must be having some leftovers from the previous version.
What was the trick that worked for you, Williams_nest? - williams_nestAspirant

The "trick" was that mdgm helped me - apparently the old Plex installation had not removed Plex folder under Apps folderen.
But be warned - later after some more upgrade trials I got in the same problem - and then I thought - I can do that.
So I opened a SSH to the NAS and removed the folder - and now I have no frontend anymore :-(
Right now I am taking a backup of everything and then I will try the OS 6.3.3 beta
