Using ReadyNas without an internet connection.

I'm looking for a NAS for an Emby server.  Ran across the RN212.

My application will put the NAS to use when I have no outside internet connection in an RV.  I want to be sure that won't cause me any problems and that I can access it from the internal network on the RV.

Secondly, I'm wondering if there is any problem with only running 1 disk in this NAS instead of 2.

Thanks!

Running the NAS does not require an internet connection.

The Emby app is only available for x86 ReadyNAS so you'd need to look at e.g. the RN422 rather than the RN212.

So long as the app you're looking to install doesn't need to download any dependencies from the internet you could install it while the NAS is not connected to the internet by uploading the package. As to whether the app will work without an internet connection that would depend on what the specific app is running. Some apps require an internet connection to be useful. Others don't.

I can get everything setup at home where i have the internet connection.  I'll use it at home too, but then take it on the road with us when go out.

Thanks for the pointer on the x86, I had no idea on that one... I'll dig a little deeper on that one.
