Web Interface of ReadyNAS returns error attempting to connect after new Windows 10 build
I just re-built my Windows 10 desktop and wanted to connect to my Ready NAS using the web interface (PC or MAC). I can connect fine using explorer but not a browser. I get the following error:

How can I connect? I did add SMBv1 client on the Windows Pro desktop but that didn't help. I am pretty sure I already added SMB v 2 to the readyNAS a few years ago, however and could connect up until the rebuild.
I am willing to reset the device as I have that data elsewhere.

This is a usual cert warning, and not the SSL protocol mismatch. You can access the NAS by clicking on "Go on to the webpage (not recommended)".
Note that this particular warning is strongly worded, because you really shouldn't go on unless you know you are connecting to the device you intend to reach. In this case, you do know that.
Chrome removed all support for TLS 1.0, so there isn't much point in looking there. Edge will let you connect if you use "IE mode" https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/deployedge/edge-ie-mode
But I expect that IE/Edge support for TLS 1.0 is temporary - I wouldn't count on it being available for the long term.

The problem is that the browser folks recently dropped support for TLS 1.0 - which is all your old NAS supports.
You can still access it with internet explorer (or edge in IE mode). It is also possible to download an old browser, and set it up so it won't automatically update. FireFox 94.0.2 will work.

The workaround allows you to connect to Frontview using HTTP - HTTPS will still give the mismatch error.
There are also patches available for Duo v2 (5.3.x firmware) and Ultra/Pro (4.3.31 firmware). Details are in the link above.
I got further with IE ensuring all the legacy TLS settings are enabled before accessing over plain old http://
I recall I already did an edit on a conf file (via putty) on this NAS server a few years ago to address this same (TLS mismatch) issue (accessing from Windows 10)
I think what I'm seeing is a bad password so I'm willing to reset the whole NAS to factory defaults.

You should have gotten the cert warning when browsing before. The NAS uses self-signed certificates, and those cannot be verified. Just click through the "go on to the webpage" link.
It looks like you did see that, and then got to login prompt. What happens when you enter "admin", and the NAS admin password?

You shouldn't need to do a factory default to recover from a password. An OS reinstall is sufficient. See pages 23-24 here: https://www.downloads.netgear.com/files/GDC/RND2110/Duov1_NV+v1_HW_en_06Dec11.pdf
The OS reinstall will reset your admin password back to netgear1.

The SSL version mismatch error suggests otherwise. Did you attempt to explicitly go to http://192.168.1.100/admin in your usual browser? (Explicitly choosing http, not https).
