cannot add AD authentication
hiya everybody.
i'm fighting with neatgear support in order to get my authentication AD working on a ready NAS duo V2
firmware 5.3.8
so in the tab system, and setting button and then security , i can choose either local users or AD access type.
i'd tryed every possibility to join my AD authentication, and i'm still getting error in joining domain... with no other help in the error.
i tried to set my OU in plenty way, but none of then worked.
i get on the website, i found some post but none saying waht is the correct structure of the OU parameters...
any help would be appriciate.
cheers.
to resume all paramters :
access type : Active Directory
netBios Domain name : nas.mydomain.com
DNS realm Name (FQDN) : mydomain.com
oraganization unit : (it is there that i tried plenty OU) DC=mydomain;DC=COM;OU=users and plenty kind of separating caracters
administrator name : Admin
admin password: mypassword
AD server : my IP 10.0.0.1
cheers

- de_niroGuideHave you changed DNS and NTP setting to your AD server ?
- hetabetaAspirantthere is no need to change DNS settings to add equipement in an AD environement ?
anyway, i can pin my readynas from its name.
for NTP settings, i don't have any settings to set NTP on the readynas.
by the way, NTP is set on my AD server, and is working fine... - It looks like your settings are incorrect. For your domain you have,
netBios Domain name : nas.mydomain.com
DNS realm Name (FQDN) : mydomain.com
oraganization unit : (it is there that i tried plenty OU) DC=mydomain;DC=COM;OU=users and plenty kind of separating caracters
administrator name : Admin
admin password: mypassword
AD server : my IP 10.0.0.1
They should be
ry
netBios Domain name :mydomain
DNS realm Name (FQDN) : mydomain.com
oraganization unit : Leave this empty
administrator name : Admin (This is case sensitive and must be a domain administrator)
admin password: mypassword
AD server : my IP 10.0.0.1
Make sure you have the ip address of your Internal DNS server entered in the Network > Adapter > Settings and look at the IP and DNS tabs to ensure they are correct.
Hope this helps.
