Cannot access NETGEAR WG602 Control Panel
Hey All,
I cannot access my NETGEAR WG602 (wireless router)'s control panel. It is connected to the modem though a wired-router (Dynex DX-E402), and when I type in the IP address for the WG602 it accesses the DX-E402's control panel.
Can someone tell me how to get around this?

Re: Cannot access NETGEAR WG602 Control Panel
You probably did it setup different IP
Remove the WG unit , directly connect to the PC ans uses static IP on PC and try access and fix the issues or reset and setup again

Re: Cannot access NETGEAR WG602 Control Panel
But can I do this without having to unplug the wired modem?

Re: Cannot access NETGEAR WG602 Control Panel
You said...
The problem is if I connect the Netgear wireless router directly to the ethernet cable, it will not be long enough to reach where I need it to be upstairs... with this being said, can I still have the Netgear wireless router connected to the modem through the Dynex wired router and access the cPanel of Netgear wireless router?
Here's a diagram:
[Modem] -> [Dynex wired router] -> [Netgear wireless router]

Re: Cannot access NETGEAR WG602 Control Panel
OK... thank you.
I realized this is my actual diagram:
[Modem] -> [Netgear WNR2000 v2 wireless router] -> [Dynex wired router] -> [Netgear WG602 wireless router]
I need to have the Dynex to extend the length of the ethernet cabel to the WG602 router. Now, when I set up the WG602 as an access point, will it still work even though it is connected to the WNR2000 router (the main router) through the Dynex wired router? If not, what will I have to do to work around this?
Thanks!

WG602 access point NOT router
You have two router back to back. setup dynes as dummy switch
http://kb.netgear.com/app/answers/detail/a_id/19852
setup same way and disregard any wifi setup on 2nd unit which is dynes for you.. Basic concept is same

Re: Cannot access NETGEAR WG602 Control Panel
Hmm...
I tried this, but no dice.
I set the Dynex router to no DHCP, and the IP to 192.168.1.100... The problem I run into is when I try to access the Netgear WG602 access point.
I used this pdf to try to set it up, but it wasn't connecting... I even plugged directly into the access point. Is there a reason why?

If you have directly connected the the WG602 with same lan subnet range on PC with static IP you should able to access the GUI.

Re: Cannot access NETGEAR WG602 Control Panel
OK. I'm on Mac and it says that the IP Address is different than the one on the WG602 manual (the one on the manual is 192.168.0.227. I don't know if I should put the IP Address that it says to use or not on here for fear of security issues...

Re: Cannot access NETGEAR WG602 Control Panel
You can NOT use same IP. Each device has to have different IP (No Duplicates)
Once that fixed you should be able to access

Re: Cannot access NETGEAR WG602 Control Panel
I actually did find it. The access point worked for a bit, but then when I moved it upstairs where I need it, it stopped working. I won't be able to work on it until this weekend, but once I start again, I'll keep you updated.

Re: Cannot access NETGEAR WG602 Control Panel
This doesn't work... when I set the Dynex router to DHCP mode off, then it stops its connection and no signal goes through the ethernet line. I power cycled both routers and did everything they stated (except for the wireless parts of course).
I am connected directly to the Dynex router through ethernet. Once I get this connection going through ethernet, then I was going to plug in the access point and configure that.
Any tips?

Re: Cannot access NETGEAR WG602 Control Panel
I did this part " Click the ADVANCED tab and select Setup > LAN.
In the IP Address field, change the LAN IP address of the router to 192.168.1.100 (same IP segment of the main router, 192.168.1.1) and clear the Use Router as DHCP server check box."
After that, the main router's IP address changed and it stopped working all together. I power cycled it, but to no avail...
Any ideas?

Here's a good resource:
Technical Summary
Technical Summary
What do you think about that set up for the main Netgear wireless router and the wired Dynex wired router? Then plug the Netgear access point in to the Dynex wired router...?

Re: Cannot access NETGEAR WG602 Control Panel
UPDATE: so I used the late layout for the router and then connected the access point to that and it works!
However, I have noticed the range of the main router isn't as far... is that because the access router is now attached?
I also changed the channel on the router ... maybe this would effect the length of the range of it?
