[EAX-80] New official firmware is BETA ?!? (58)
Hi,
I checked the download support page for the EAX-80 and noticed a new firmware version (finally):
1.0.0.58 - Hot Fix
This version has some security updates.
But when I download the file it seems to be a BETA version of the firmware (EAX80-V1.0.0.58_1.0.1_BETA.chk).
I find this strange to receive a BETA version from the official download page.

Many times you see "hot fixes" marked as beta as they're just a security fix.

That is misusing the word BETA if "just a security fix" is the reason.
BETA means that the firmware is in a certain test stage, not yet approved for being released to the general public.

You'd rather they waited on the security fix until they had a full firmware with feature enhancement/bug fixes in it?
If you're worried, don't install it.

You miss the point of my original question/remark.
Please do not react if you keep saying what you have said twice now.

this is the community forum where members of the public are trying to help out. We're not netgear.
so it says beta in the file title and not "hot fix".
its still a security fix as the release notes show.
Should you think you're testing "beta firmware" and not comfortable doing so, then don't install it. Everyone has that right.
