EX7000 access point can't connect mywifiext

We've had a few problems over the past few days with our Centurylink modem connecting to the internet, I think we finally have that taken care of. With the disconnects I ended up going to "mywifi" website (guess I can't type out the actual web address here) and for some reason at the time it was asking if I want to set it up as an access point or extender, the EX7000, I have an ethernet going from the Centurylink modem upstairs through the floor to the Netgear. I was a bit confused as we've been using these two for at least 4 or 5 years. I clicked "extender" like an idiot. I wanted it back as a access point as I like just connecting straight to the Netgear & not even messing with the CTL modem at all. I did the factory reset, twice now, and set it up as an extender. The wifi signal is great, I can connect to the internet on the computer here in the basement having an ethernet from the Netgear to the PC, but, I cannot connect to mywifiextnet. I can't connect to it on this PC, even though the ethernet goes straight from the Netgear to it, and I can't connect to it on my iphone, even though I'm connected to the wifi signal from the EX7000 I just set up. I see the 2 modem wifi signals and the 2 Netgear wifi signals, so I know I'm connected to the Netgear. I can't for the life of me understand why it keeps saying "you are not connected to your extenders wifi network". I've done the factory reset twice now, no luck. I can't think of what else to do, but I'd like to do a firmware update & correct a password mistake I did on the 5g. I've searched & I don't really see any answers, I've seen a few topics but it was years ago and there was no answer. Thanks so much!
Why in gods name can I not type the URL that I'm having an issue with. It says "its not permitted in this community"?

m[y]wifiext.net or mywifiext.com (can't resist to try again) ... while being connected direct to the extender you intended to manage (by the default SSID, or by a network cable) ... should bring you to the extender Web UI. Otherwise you end on the "fall-back" site on the net.
When it comes to your Apple mobile (iOS 14 one can guess) - well possible it was configured along wit the update to secured DNS - the extender will never be able to see and detect the normal DNS query and return the extender LAN IP - you will always end on the fallback site on the net.
