Can anyone give me the best setup for extending the wifi range of my current router. I bought the EX7300. Should I use it as an extender or access point? What I'm trying to accomplish is being able to move anywhere around the house and stay on the network switching from my comcast router to the extender automatically. Should the SSID for the 2.4 and 5 on the comcast and the extender all be the same name? How quickly will the swichover happen?
You can not switch between extender and router automatically the only way this would happen is if you lost connection to the network then the device will connect to the strongest signal. If you are wanting auto switching you may want to look at our new router Orbi.
