I have been able to get all the way through setup awesome with no problems until it gets to the firmware update then it says Router Not Found

I highly recommend not updating using the app. Its where we see the most issues/corrupt firmware problems. 

for best results, I'd recommend hardwiring into the extender and going through the update process manually. 

Failing that, I'd still use a browser to update it. 

Again, the app process is nice to have but usually when we see issues, its when users updated via the app.
