I am running 2 EX8000 extenders one of them keeps dropping the internet around every hour, to get it back on line i have to reboot the extender than its fine for around another hour then i have to repeat the process. Item located next to Virgin super hub 3 behind the TV. The router is a Night hawk x 10 located upstairs, with the second router located at the rear of the house.
What Firmware version is loaded on the EX? Is the ISP modem bridge and it's wifi turned OFF?
Modem Combo Units: Couple of options, 1. Configure the modem for transparent bridge mode. Then use the NG router in router mode. You'll need to contact the ISP for help and information in regards to the modem being bridged correctly. 2. If you can't bridge the modem, disable ALL wifi radios on the modem, configure the modems DMZ for the IP address the NG router gets from the modem.
What is the distance between the main host router and the EX unit? 30 feet to begin with is recommended.
What channels are you using on the main host router?
