Extender 5 Ghz stopped working

My EX6200 Extender has stopped receiving the 5 Ghz signal. It worked for a few months and suddenly stopped. I've done the basic steps, and also tried the suggestions of changing the channel and enabliing SSID and it does not work. Any other suggestions?

Also the extender is relatively new, five months of use, not new enough to get Netgear support, but still seems too new to stop working.

What router is it connected to?

What firmware is on the extender?

How do you know the 5ghz isn't working?

If you log into the extenders page, what is it showing for status?

Re: Extender 5 Ghz stopped working

Thanks for responding.

Extender is connected to router verizon DLink DSL-2750B 1.44

I do not know what firmware is on the extender. How do I determine that? I have seen suggestions to update but I thought not necessary after only five months.

I don't think the extender 5 GHz is working because the light no longer lights on the extender, even when it is one foot from the router. As I mentioned, it was working but we noticed this week it is no longer coming on.

What is the extender's page? I don't see anything like that on my netgear account? You mean verizon's router page?

Re: Extender 5 Ghz stopped working

There's a status page for your router. the manual walks you through logging into the device.

The status page will show firmware.

Re: Extender 5 Ghz stopped working

so the status page is showing it broadcasting. The light only comes on if a devices is connected to the 5ghz.

do you have a device connected to it?

Re: Extender 5 Ghz stopped working

Yes we have devices connected but I believe they are connecting to the router and not extender, since the light is not on. Is that possible?

Re: Extender 5 Ghz stopped working

Is it possible that the extender's 5 Ghz is working but the light is not?

Re: Extender 5 Ghz stopped working

connected to the 5ghz on the extender?

and is the light on then?

Or try logging into the extender and checking its connected devices page

Re: Extender 5 Ghz stopped working

Strange, when I try to login today it won't load, "This site can't be reached" though I was able to yesterday. I've been trying all day.

I am confused, because on my laptop it says I am connected to the 5GEXT yet the extender light is not on. I assumed it was connecting to the router. As I said, I'm confused.

Re: Extender 5 Ghz stopped working

Well, I think the 5G is working and it's just the light that is not working on it, and throwing me off. Thank you very much for helping walk me through this.
