MS80 compatibility with EasyMesh routers

My fiber company makes me rent an Arris NVG443B modem/router combo, and it has the ability to operate in EasyMesh mode. If I buy Nighthawk mesh add-on satellites (MS80), will they be compatible with my existing router? Or do they only work with the MK83/4? If compatible, I have the ability to do wired backhaul in my house; can the MS80's do this with, again, any EasyMesh router, or only the MK83?

In theory, they're listed on the easy mesh approved list. But I've never seen anyone try it.
I haven't.
The biggest hurdle is price. Right now on amazon, a MS80 satellite is $122 for a single satellite. You can get the MK83 kit for $146. so if you were planning on having more than 1 satellite, its easy which one to choose. Plus then, if it needs the router, you have it. Or you could put the Arris in passthrough mode (modem only) and just use the netgear kit. That'd be the router I'd go for.
