Orbi AC1200 Compatibility

Currently using an AC1900 modem/router and it just isn't cutting it. Considering getting the Orbi 1200 mesh router.

1. Is the Orbi compatible with the AC1900, if the latter is just used as a modem?

2. If not, is the Orbi compatible with my old modem, the Motorola SURFboard SB6141?
