Plug My WN2000RPT with cable?

I have D-LINK router and Netgear WN2000RPT
can I connect the AP with cable to the router and let him transmit wireless?
when im trying to connect the AP wirelessly to the router I always have signal errors is it possible?

extender will able to connect to existing wireless network.'

you may need to adjust the encryption type, use WPA2 on main router and see
