Using MR60 & MS60's as access points to primary RAX120 router
Hey Gang, Curious on if this approach makes sense, or if there are more drawbacks then benefits.
Primary router is RAX120, with just a couple of weak spots within the house. I also have the MR60/MS60 mesh system (not yet hooked up), but I thought it better to avoid having 2 separate networks, and see if I can use the MS60's as mesh access points to the RAX120 (instead the MR60).
Curious on thoughts, success with that type of setup, or warnings on how that's not going to be a smart way to go.

You sure can do it. I've done it a few times when I have a flagship router and need the mesh for the coverage.
What I usually do is setup the router (RAX) as the primary and then connect the mesh system to it with the mesh system in access point mode.
I setup the mesh system with a separate ssid and on different wireless channels to prevent interference.
Then the device close to the RAX I connect to it. The RAX will be faster than the mesh system when its close but the mesh system will be faster on the peripheral.
The only caveat to that is the mesh system you have is the most base mesh system you can buy. It's not the fastest system (or even close), so it might not even be that much faster at the periphery. And the RAX120 is a pretty fast/solid router so it'll take a bit of distance/obstruction to really be faster. If you can hardwire in the MK's satellites that can really boost their performance but otherwise, they get about half the speed (or less) as the MR router
