WN3000RP believes it has no IP address those status screen says otherwise
If the setup and config isnt bad enough...NOW the device acts as if it has not IP address so when any device connects to it, it has not access.
Logging into the deive under shows it has an IP address and all the other key network setting...
BUT when you connect to the SSID you have "limted access" do to the device not having the IP address that the shows it having.
I am on the latest firmware:V1.0.1.18_1.1.24
Any ideas and thank you in adv.

What does google DNS have to do with my access point connection to my router and getting a IP address?
Yes the router is pingable...in addition, the nework is closed so google DNS does not come in to playl

As I mentioned above this has nothing to do with the internet...This is a private network.
Sure I can ping google but what does that have to do with my AP not getting an IP address from it router?

you had static IP set on this pc since you can ping the router correct? Seem very common for extender to not getting the IP fro the DHCP

The AP shows it has an IP address when you directly logon to it and look at its status page BUT when you connect to it, it has limted access and says it has no IP adress.

I've given the AP a static address AND I have allowed DHCP to assign it an address. Either way, it gets the same address as this is how my router is configured.
I can ping the router regadrless of having a Static or DHCP assigned address.

Re: WN3000RP believes it has no IP address those status screen says otherwise
I was able to figure out that the issue was/is. There is what appears to be a bug in the latest firmware. It manifest itself one or two ways.
1. IF you are using the ACL feature of a Netgear router the extender will not be able to assign IP address to the devices that connect to it. ( I beleive the reason is it isn't capable of passing on its MAC address to the router properly) You must turn ACL off for it to work.
2. IF you are using DHCP on your router AND address reservation AND you only have the exact number of IP address that you need being assigned out then the extender will not be able to assigne out the predefined address reservation you've set. You must expand your DHCP pool beyond the exact number of oredefined IP address and it will select from them. (And again in this case, I beleive the reason is it isn't capable of passing on its MAC address to the router properly)
Take aways...
Turn off ACL and expand your DHCP pool.
Netgear Tech Supp was no help this..the simply wanted to follow their script.... 😞
