WN3000RPv3 / Change of Channel ? / datarate drop
Hello ,
I bought a WN3000RPv3 to set up as a repeater in my WIFI with a Pirelli DV2210 DSL MODEM / WLAN Router.
As recommended from Netgear i used a other SSID for the Repeater. But now is the Problem that if iam working also on the Extender Network the Internet speed drops from 15mbit to 1-2mbit in both wifis. From my point of view this is a conflict channels. But unfortunately it is not possible to change under mywifiext the channel from the extender network? I tried also to work under the same SSIDm but i was not able to get a stable connection...
So my questions:
- How it is possible to change the channel on WN3000RPv3?
- Some other proposals to solve my problem?
greetings

The extender inherits the same wireless channel as the base router, as your are extending the base router's wireless connection. For 2.ghz wifi, try channel1,6, or 11. See which gives you the best throughput, by testing with your Base router first. Extending wireless halves you total throughput.
The better alternative is to use your extender as an Access Point.
